Medical Informatics Group
Implementation of a domain-independent system for acquiring, representing and executing clinical guidelines. The system's distinguishing features consist in the adoption of advanced and extended AI techniques for temporal reasoning and temporal consistency checking, applied both in the acquisition and in the execution of guidelines. Moreover, the system includes a decision support facility, based on probabilistic reasoning and decision theory concepts. Other areas where the group is currently active are: Case-Rased Reasoning in medical application (diabetes and emodialysis applications), time-series retrieval from medical databases.
